Inheritance planning
Sam tries to break every wallet he reviews — not the cryptography, but the human parts: the backup step, the restore flow, the instructions in the box. Every device on this site has been set up from scratch, wiped, and restored from its own seed backup before it gets a score.
A former application security engineer, he spent nine years on incident response before covering bitcoin custody full-time. He writes our wallet reviews, the self-custody guide, and the inheritance-planning material most review sites leave out — because the failure mode that actually loses people their coins is rarely a hack.

HOW I REVIEW
Every wallet gets set up as a first-timer would, then deliberately destroyed: factory reset, restore from seed on a different device, confirm the same addresses return. I score the recovery experience as heavily as the hardware, because that is the step people actually fail. Our full methodology →
